1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information in connection with your use of Minesweeper:
- Account information. When you sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple, we receive your email address and, if available, your display name.
- Profile information. Your in-app username, which is visible to other players.
- Gameplay data. Match results and statistics such as games played, games won, and games lost.
- Social and messaging data. Direct messages you send to other players, your follow/friend relationships, and the list of players you have blocked. Messages you send are readable by the recipient and, where required for moderation, by us.
- Presence data. Whether your account is currently online, so other players can see who is available to play.
- Premium membership status. Whether you have purchased premium membership. Payment itself is processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play; we never receive or store your payment card, bank details, or full purchase history.
2. Automatically Collected Technical Data
Our backend infrastructure (Google Firebase) automatically processes limited technical data necessary to operate the service, such as IP address, device and connection metadata, and basic diagnostic logs used to keep the service reliable and secure. We do not use this data for advertising, and Minesweeper does not integrate any advertising or third-party analytics SDK.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
- Create and maintain your account and in-app profile;
- Operate core gameplay, matchmaking, messaging, and follow/friend features;
- Unlock premium features once a purchase is verified;
- Maintain the safety and integrity of the service, including responding to blocks and abuse reports;
- Communicate with you about your account when necessary; and
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. In-App Purchases
Minesweeper offers an optional, one-time premium membership purchase that unlocks messaging and follow requests. Purchases are billed and processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their respective terms and privacy policies. We only receive confirmation that a purchase was completed, which we store as a simple status on your account. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google in accordance with their store policies, not by us directly.
5. Third-Party Services We Use
We rely on the following third-party service providers, each of which processes data under its own privacy policy:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Realtime Database) — account authentication, data storage, and online presence.
- Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple — secure sign-in.
- Apple App Store and Google Play — app distribution and in-app purchase billing.
7. Data Retention and Account Deletion
We retain your account information for as long as your account remains active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at the email address below. We will delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required to comply with a legal obligation, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
You can also delete your own account directly from the app: open the app, go to your Profile (tap your avatar in the top right), scroll to the bottom, and tap “Delete Account.” You will be asked to confirm, and if you signed in with an email and password you may be asked to re-enter your password to verify your identity. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, username, game statistics, and social connections, and cannot be undone.
Messages you send in the public Global Chat are kept for a maximum of 30 days and are then automatically and permanently deleted.
8. Data Security
We rely on Google Firebase's industry-standard security infrastructure, including encryption in transit and access-controlled data storage, to protect your information. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Residents of the European Economic Area may exercise rights available under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR); residents of Türkiye may exercise rights available under the Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK No. 6698). 10. Children's Privacy
Minesweeper is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required by local law), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
11. International Data Transfers
Our service providers may process and store data on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States and other jurisdictions where Google Firebase operates data centers. By using Minesweeper, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in such locations.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Minesweeper after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
